PENNSYLVANIA - Cupcakes sold by big-box retailers in Pennsylvania like Target and Walmart are being recalled as they may contain fragments of metal mesh wire, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Tastykake cupcakes distributed in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia are affected by the voluntary recall issued on Oct. 31 by Flowers Foods, Inc.

A vendor notified the company of the possible contamination in a supplied ingredient, which in turn sparked the recall, the FDA said.
