Central Bucks Expo To Kick Off Fire Prevention Month

The free public event at Central Park will feature live demonstrations, a helicopter landing, fire and rescue displays and lots more.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A free public expo featuring live demonstrations and a helicopter landing will kick off Fire Prevention Month on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Central Park in Doylestown Township.

Staged by the volunteers of Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, the Central Bucks Fire Prevention Expo will be open from 4 to 8 p.m., featuring fire and rescue displays, local EMS agencies, live demonstrations, a planned helicopter landing, and more.

The expo kicks off with a scheduled landing off a Medevac helicopter at 4 p.m., followed by a canine demonstration at 4:30 p.m.

The expo continues with a dryer fire demonstration at 5 p.m., followed by an auto extrication at 5:20 p.m., and a rope rescue demonstration at 5:45 p.m.

Between 6 and 7 p.m., the firefighters will conduct a ventilation demonstration at 6:05 p.m., will brief the public on sprinkler efficacy at 6:30 p.m., and will conduct a dryer fire demonstration at 6:50 p.m.

The expo concludes with a roof removal demonstration by the firefighters at 7:10 p.m.and a ventilation demonstration at 7:40 p.m.

The expo is free and open to the public.
