Central Bucks Superintendent Resigns From Position
Central Bucks School District Superintendent John Kopicki resigned from his position effective April 2, the district said.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The superintendent for the Central Bucks School District has stepped down from his position.
John Kopicki resigned as school superintendent effective April 2, the district said in a statement Friday, which did not specify the reason for Kopicki's sudden departure.
"The board is grateful to Dr. Kopicki for his five years of service to the students, faculty, and staff of the Central Bucks School District and wishes him well as he pursues other professional opportunities," the statement read.

Kopicki will continue to serve as a consultant for the district for the remainder of the school year, the district said.
The school board will consider the appointment of Dr. Abram Lucabaugh, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education, as the district's interim superintendent during its regular meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lucabaugh served as principal of Central Bucks High School East for 11 years before his appointment to Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education in June 2018. He began his education career as a classroom teacher at Hatboro Horsham High School.
In a letter posted on the district's website, Lucabaugh said he looks forward to working with Central Bucks families and the school board of directors.
