Bucks Co. Seal Coat Scammers Charged With Burglary: Police
Two people have been charged after authorities in Bucks Co. say they operated a driveway seal coating scam for weeks across the region.

CENTRAL BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Two people have been charged with burglary after authorities in Bucks County say they operated a driveway seal coating scam for four weeks throughout the region.
Bob Mitchell, 45, and Cindy Evans, 42, were arrested on Sept. 21 and charged with burglary and related offenses in connection with the alleged distraction scam.

According to authorities, earlier this month, the pair showed up at a home in New Britain Township and told the homeowner they could seal coat his driveway for $450.

After the "work" was completed, Mitchell allegedly took the homeowner to the side of the house to show him the job. At that time, police said Evans entered the victim's house through the front door and stole money.
As soon as the pair left, the homeowner went back inside and immediately noticed money was missing, police said.

A week later, Mitchell and Evans were back in the Central Bucks area soliciting residents to have their driveways seal coated. Hilltown Township Police located the subjects; the burglary victim drove to the scene and identified Mitchell and Evans as the subjects that were at his house the week before.
Mitchell and Evans were subsequently taken into custody and arraigned. As of Tuesday afternoon, they remained jailed after failing to post bail, which had been reduced to 10 percent of $50,000.
Police believe Mitchell and Evans have been soliciting for driveway sealing services for approximately four weeks and have been operating a Ford F150 with a sprayer in the truck bed.
