Chalfont Borough Man Charged In Strangulation Assault
A domestic incident began inside a home and spilled into the street in the area of the train station.
CHALFONT BOROUGH, PA — A Chalfont man faces strangulation and assault charges following a domestic incident that began inside a home and spilled into the street in the area of the train station.
The Central Bucks Regional Police Department responded to the borough on Thursday for a domestic in progress after receiving a 911 call.
According to police, a 37-year-old man had argued and yelled at the victim to leave his residence and had grabbed the victim by the hair, forcing the victim to the floor.

When the victim attempted to leave, another argument ensued over a cell phone, police said.
The man grabbed the victim by the neck and pushed the victim against a wall, according to police.
Police said at that point, the victim ran from the residence to the area of the train station. When
police arrived, the man was catching up to the victim.

The man was taken into custody and charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct (engaged in fighting). He was arraigned and bail was set at 10 percent of $50,000. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
