DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Theatre Academy is bringing Charles Dickens’ beloved tale - "A Christmas Carol – The Musical" — to the stage, and through a special community partnership, all Central Bucks middle school students will receive free admission to the show.

Presented in conjunction with Lenape Middle School, the musical adaptation of Charles Dicken’s classic novella — featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens — will be staged at Lenape Middle School, 313 West State St., Doylestown, in three performances: Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.

The production is directed and choreographed by Stephen Casey, a four-time Barrymore Award nominee, with assistant direction by Michael O’Hara. Jaime Rogers serves as music director, as well as coproducer, alongside Kevin Handy.

Doylestown Theatre Academy’s commitment to offering free tickets to all Central Bucks middle school students celebrates both the holiday spirit and a strong educational connection. Because Central Bucks students read "A Christmas Carol" in 7th grade, the musical provides an opportunity for families to experience the story live on stage.

With dazzling musical numbers, heartfelt performances, and the unforgettable journey of Ebenezer Scrooge, the production promises to lift spirits and spark excitement for the season.

“This is a gift to the community,” said Jaime Rogers from Doylestown Theatre Academy. “We want students to experience the magic of live theatre — especially a story they already know so well — and we hope it becomes a tradition that brings families together each holiday season.”

Families are encouraged to reserve tickets early, as performances are expected to draw large crowds. “Tickets have been selling very fast,” said Rogers, noting that the Sunday matinee is already almost entirely sold out.
