Deputy Bucks DA Demoted For Working Side Job As DoorDash Driver
The move comes after the Bucks County District Attorney's office learned that Gregg Shore had a side hustle delivering food for DoorDash.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — In today's cutthroat economy, it's not uncommon for Americans to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. It's generally not expected for those working in more esteemed professions, such as a prosecutor in a district attorney's office.
That's why it comes as a surprise that the first assistant district attorney in the Bucks County District Attorney's Office was working a side job delivering food for DoorDash — at times during work hours — Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced Thursday.
Weintraub's announcement came shortly after KYW Newsradio reported the story.

Gregg Shore, who at times worked the side gig during normal business hours, has been demoted and will take on a role as a deputy district attorney, Weintraub said. Using his accrued vacation time, Shore has repaid the county the money he earned working that extra job while on duty, he added.
"Nevertheless, his actions were thoughtless and demonstrated a lack of leadership," Weintraub said. “He also violated the trust that I, the other members of the District Attorney’s Office, and the people of Bucks County place in each of us. I have a duty to hold those who violate that trust accountable. No exceptions.”

Shore worked for four years in the DA's office between 1996 and 2000. After working at the Lehigh County Prosecutor's Office and the state attorney general's office, he returned to the Bucks County DA's office in 2015. He is known for starting the office's Insurance Fraud Unit and serving as lead prosecutor in the Cosmo DiNardo and Sean Kratz 2017 murder trial.
Replacing Shore as first assistant district attorney is Jennifer Schorn, a lifelong Bucks County resident and 20-year veteran of the department who has prosecuted numerous sexual offenders for crimes against children and solved cold case homicides, Weintraub said.
“Jen is a warrior leading us all into battle in our relentless pursuit of justice and is a great example of leadership for us to follow,” Weintraub said. “I have had the privilege of working with her on high profile cases, as well as sharing management responsibilities with her over the last several years. She has consistently demonstrated her commitment to this office and its staff, always seeking to help newer ADAs develop as prosecutors and as people."
Shore's salary with the district attorney's office was just over $125,000 in 2019, according to public records.
