Doylestown Borough Council's Noni West Announces Run For Mayor
Noni West, a longtime member of Doylestown Borough Council, is running for mayor.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — After serving on Doylestown Borough Council for more than 12 years, Noni West has announced she is running for mayor.
West, a Democrat who has served as council vice president since 2017, is a public policy specialist for the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, a nonprofit prevention, advocacy and recovery support organization.
She serves on the borough's COVID Community Recovery Task Force and is chair of the finance committee. She has participated in every borough council committee, including the Central Bucks Regional Police Commission, her campaign said.

“The COVID pandemic has created enormous challenges for the businesses, institutions, and residents of Doylestown Borough. Doylestown needs and deserves a Mayor with the experience I can draw on from my very first moment on the job,” West said in a statement announcing her candidacy. “I bring vision, energy, compassion, and confidence in the future of our community—key ingredients for serving in this leadership role.”
A Doylestown native, West attended Lenape Middle School and Central Bucks West before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilson College.

Mayor Ron Strouse, who is not seeking re-election to a third term, has endorsed West to be his successor.
"She is extraordinarily well-qualified, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about the challenges and about the responsibilities," Strouse said in February. "I will proudly chair her campaign."
West is one of three Democrats running in the May 18 primary. Judith Fraivillig, a longtime educator, has announced she is running for mayor. Larissa Hopwood, a teacher and career musician, announced her bid in February.
