Doylestown Firefighters Battle Church Fire In Montgomery County
Tower 79 responded to a fire early Wednesday morning that heavily damaged Faith Tabernacle House of Prayer in Norristown.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Fire Company was called in to assist early Wednesday morning at a church fire on DeKalb Pike in neighboring Montgomery County.
Tower 79 responded at 3:18 a.m. to a second alarm call in the Borough of Norristown to assist Montgomery County Station 27 at 542 Dekalb Pike. This was the first time that Doylestown provided a mutual aid assist to this location, the fire company posted on its Facebook page.
The destructive blaze tore through Norristown's Faith Tabernacle House of Prayer, severely damaging the church, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The incident began at around 7 p.m. Tuesday night and drew a massive response from firefighters around Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks counties.
Photos and videos from the scene show flames coming out of the windows and the top of the church as smoke engulfed the area.

Crews remained on scene well into Wednesday morning.
"Please continue to keep everyone affected in your prayers," State Rep. Greg Scott said in a statement. "This situation is on-going and involves a lot of personnel."
