Doylestown Singer-Songwriter, Age 16, Featured On Radio Show
Teenage musician Skylar Love was interviewed on the podcast "Chatting with Nat" by award-winning performer and host Natalie Jean.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — A young Doylestown performer was recently featured on a radio show celebrating empowered women in music.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Natalie Jean, a co-founder of Sisters In Music Radio, hosts "Chatting with Nat," "a podcast for independent women seeking to speak their truth and to break down barriers." She spoke with 16-year-old Skylar Love of Bucks County on Wednesday.
As described on her website, Love is an emerging artist who delivers "a mix of singer/songwriter meets indie pop rock with a whimsical dark twist." Her vocal influences include Edith Piaf and Billie Eilish.

When she was 11, Love reportedly taught herself guitar and learned to write her own music. Then at 14, she won the School of Rock Center Stage contest with Atlantic Records and recorded her first EP at APG Studios.
She released her most recent EP, "Hey, Call Me" just over a year ago.

In their interview, Love told Jean she felt fortunate to have been able to perform throughout the pandemic, continuing to work on her career despite the difficult circumstances. She recently played festivals including Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Launch Music Conference & Festival, and Carolina Indie Fest.
The teen's single "Drunk on Love, High on Emotion" was a semi-finalist in the 2021 International Song Competition, and has more than 11,000 streams on Spotify.
According to her website, in 2021 her music was circulating on radio stations in the U.S.,Canada, Japan, the U.K, and Australia.
