DOYLESTOWN, PA — As of Tuesday night, Thompson Toyota looks a bit different. The Swamp Road car dealership officially went pink last night in support of the Pine2Pink effort for local breast cancer patients.

The bright pink lights were switched on Tuesday night and will remain up through the end of the month.

Here are a few photographs, shared by Keith Fenimore, who is spearheading the Pine2Pink effort.

Pine2Pink launched its month-long fundraising and awareness program in support of breast cancer on Sunday. A series of events and initiatives are planned throughout October in Doylestown, New Hope, and Peddler's Village.

"It's our goal for Pine2Pink to provide a source of relief and comfort to patients during the grueling process of treatment and recovery and let them focus on becoming whole again, and take away some of the financial stresses that come with battling breast cancer," Fenimore said.

As part of the initiative, Pine Street in Doylestown is Pink Street for the month. Also, many exterior lights throughout both towns and Peddler's Village will change from white to pink for the entire month.

Hundreds of retailers and larger buildings like the Bucks County courthouse, Michener Museum, and Mercer Museum will also glow pink. Fenimore said Wednesday he expects those to be illuminated this week.

Plus, the Pine2Pink free app will launch a virtual immersive pink ribbon scavenger hunt throughout Doylestown, New Hope and Peddler's Village. The Pine2Pink free scavenger Hunt App will be available for download Sept. 29 through the App Store and Google Play. Nearly 200 local retailers, businesses, merchants and municipalities will participate in the virtual hunt. More than 60 prizes are available.

Last year's efforts raised $21,500, helping more than 70 local breast cancer patients. Pine2Pink works closely with the Cancer Institute of Doylestown Health to help patients through transportation, integrative services, and out-of-pocket medical expenses.
