Firearm Offenses, DUI And Theft Arrests: New Britain Twp. Crime Report

Police also made arrests involving bank fraud, domestic disputes, and protection-from-abuse violations.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents from May 15 to August 31. During this tour, the patrol unit handled 64 traffic accidents, 103 alarm calls, 179 medical emergencies, and 107 abandoned 911 calls.

May 15

  • Pennsylvania State Police alerted New Britain Township Police to a person who is not permitted to purchase a firearm attempting to purchase one at Target World located on West Butler Avenue. The resulting investigation concluded with a man being charged with various firearms offenses.

  • Patrol responded to a retail theft at the Wawa store on West Butler Avenue. Police said a group of females entered the store and stole merchandise. Officers were able to identify one of the suspects and cited her for the theft.

May 28

  • Officers responded to Target World on West Butler Avenue for someone who is not permitted to purchase a firearm, lying on official forms in an attempt to purchase a gun and was denied. The investigation resulted in the identification of the suspect and a warrant for their arrest has been signed.

  • Patrol responded to a fraud in progress at the TD Bank on West Butler Avenue. An individual was attempting to access and withdraw funds from someone else’s account using fraudulent documents. On arrival, the suspect fled into a vehicle with two others. All three were apprehended in Warrington and taken before a judge on charges.

June 2

  • Officers were called to the intersection of County Line Road and Lexington Avenue for the report of a two vehicle accident in which a vehicle struck a parked vehicle and fled. Police were able to locate the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

June 5

  • Employees at the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store reported a theft of alcohol from the store a few days earlier. A man was identified and police discovered that this was not his first offense. The man was charged with felony retail theft and an arrest warrant was issued.

June 13

  • Employees at the Wawa store on West Butler Avenue called police to report a retail theft. Police cited a man for stealing alcohol and related offenses.

June 18

  • An individual was charged with harassment following a dispute with a neighbor in the 100 block of Applecross Circle.

June 27

  • An impaired driver was taken into custody and charged with related offenses following a two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of Hampshire Drive.

July 1

  • Two juveniles were issued non-traffic citations for retail theft following an incident at the Wawa store on West Butler Avenue.
  • Two individuals were charged following the theft of a license plate from a vehicle parked in a business complex at 1456 Ferry Road. The stolen license plate was later located using License Plate Reader technology.
  • An individual was charged with theft following an incident at the Wawa store on West Butler Avenue.

July 5

  • Patrol responded to the 500 block of Lexington Avenue for an unknown emergency. After the investigation, police discovered that an assault had occurred between two domestic partners. A suspect was arrested and charged with related offenses.

July 8

  • The patrol division handled a Protection From Abuse violation in the West Fairwood neighborhood. The suspect was charged with related offenses.

July 14

  • Two individuals were arrested and charged with fraud after they attempted to access and withdraw funds from a victim's bank account at the Citizens Bank located inside the Giant Food Store on 4275 County Line Road.

July 15

  • During the early morning hours, patrol stopped a vehicle for moving violations in the area of County Line Road and Maple Avenue. The driver was intoxicated and had narcotics in their possession. The driver was arrested and charged with related offenses.

July 17

  • Officers handled a harassment complaint for an altercation that occurred at the Giant Food Store, 4275 County Line Road. The suspect was identified and cited with summary harassment charges.

July 20

  • Patrol stopped a vehicle for moving violations in the area of County Line Road and Lexington Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated and resisted arrest. They were taken into custody and charged with related offenses.

August 2

  • Police were called to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa for a man who was trespassing at the property and had caused damage to the fire suppression system. He was later charged.

August 10

  • Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Green Valley Way for a disturbance. An individual was taken into custody and charged with assault and related charges.

August 15

  • While on patrol, an officer located a known wanted subject. When taking them into custody, drug paraphernalia was located on their person. They were booked into Bucks County Prison and additional charges for drug possession were filed.

August 16

  • A vehicle was stopped by officers at the intersection of County Line Road and New Britain Boulevard for moving violations. The driver was determined to be impaired and was taken into custody.

August 21

  • Patrol stopped a vehicle with counterfeit registration plates. The driver and owner had purchased the tag and displayed it fraudulently on the vehicle. They were taken into custody and charged.

August 30

  • Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Grove Circle for the report of a Protection from Abuse Order violation. An individual was arrested and taken to the Bucks County Prison.

August 31

  • An individual was arrested and charged following a disturbance in the 1100 block of New Galena Road involving a firearm. The individual was remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
