Father And Son Incident In Warrington Leads To Strangulation Charge
Police were called to Costner Drive and Basswood Court around 3:16 p.m. for the report of a man holding a boy in a headlock.
WARRINGTON, PA — A Warrington man has been charged with strangulation and simple assault following an incident involving his 16-year-old son in Warrington.
On Sept. 9, police were called to Costner Drive and Basswood Court around 3:16 p.m. for the report of a man holding another in a headlock.
When police arrived, they learned that the two individuals were a 45-year-old father and his 16-year-old son.

Following an investigation, police learned that after an incident inside their house, the son fled on foot with the father chasing him into another neighborhood. When the father caught up to his son, he tackled him to the ground and a struggle ensued, police said.
Police said the father wrapped his arm around his son's neck, making it difficult for his son to breathe while holding him on the ground.

Several bystanders intervened and stopped the assault, police said.
Witnesses reported that the son was making gurgling sounds during the assault and had difficulty catching his breath and talking following the incident.
Officers observed redness around the neck area of the son, which they said was consistent with the statements of witnesses.
The 45-year-old father was transported to Warrington Police Headquarters, where he was processed and arraigned by Judge Wertman. His bail was set at 10 percent of $200,000, and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.
