Man Faces Assault Charges, Police Make DUI Arrests: Central Bucks Regional Crime Report

Teen faces multiple charges following incident in downtown Doylestown; police issue numerous citations for disorderly conduct.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 3 and Sept. 22:

Sept. 3

  • N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough - A 56-year-old woman from Philadelphia was charged with an ordinance violation following a traffic stop for erratic driving. The driver presented with an odor of marijuana. The driver consented to a search of their vehicle, which turned up baggies of marijuana. A citation was filed.

  • 700 E. Butler Avenue (Del Val University), New Britain Borough – An 18-year-old woman was charged with underage drinking following police response to Cook Hall for an intoxicated woman requiring medical assistance. EMS transported the woman to the hospital. A citation was filed.
  • E. Butler Avenue and N. Main Street, Chalfont Borough - A 49-year-old man from Chalfont was charged with DUI following police response to a two-vehicle accident. The driver presented with bloodshot eyes, slow motor skills and an odor of alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were taken and failed and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

Sept. 7

  • N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough - A 41-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with disorderly conduct for urinating in public. A citation was filed.

  • Lafayette Street & Squirrel Lane, Doylestown Borough - A 57-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with public intoxication following a pedestrian stop for a man with an unsteady gait and cut on his arm. The man presented with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. EMS responded for medical assistance. A citation was filed.
  • 35 E. Butler Avenue, Chalfont Borough - A 40-year-old man from North Wales was charged with DUI following police response to a two-vehicle traffic accident. The driver presented with glassy bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. EMS was called for medical assistance for the driver and driver/passenger of another vehicle. Legal blood draw was obtained.

Sept. 13 to 29

  • Doylestown Borough – A 27-year-old man from Chalfont, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man from Warminster, a 23-year-old man from Warrington, and a 24-year-old man from Fountainville were charged with disorderly conduct for urinating in public during separate incidents. Citations have been filed.

Sept. 13

  • South Main and East State Streets, Doylestown Borough – A 46-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for turning left the wrong way on a one-way street. The driver presented with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and bloodshot glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests were failed, and a subsequent blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital. A Criminal

Sept. 17

  • E. Butler Avenue and N. Main Street, Chalfont Borough – A 20-year-old woman from Chalfont was charged with drug possession following a traffic stop for failing to stop at a red signal. The driver presented with an odor of marijuana and a container of marijuana in plain sight.

Sept. 19

  • Doylestown Borough – A group of juveniles taunted an older man leaving a restaurant, words were exchanged, and the older man attempted to take a swing at the juvenile offender. A group of juveniles then chased the man into the roadway and across intersections to the County Theater area. The man was struck by several juveniles, but was able to leave the area. The juvenile offender, a 16-year-boy then proceeded to lie on the hood of a parked vehicle yelling at the driver and stopping the vehicle from leaving. An adult walking by observed this and pushed the juvenile off the hood of the vehicle and out of the roadway. As the adult walked away, the teen punched the adult in the back of the head twice and took a fighting stance as police began to arrive. Police located the teen in the Starbucks parking lot and took the teen into custody, securing him in the rear of the patrol vehicle. The teen presented with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. As a large crowd formed, several juveniles attempted to open the rear door of the patrol vehicle in a failed effort to allow the offender to escape. During transport to police headquarters for processing, the teen became irate, screaming obscenities and making derogatory remarks toward the officer; he unbuckled his seat belt and pulled on the door handle. The teen was released to his parents, and a Juvenile Allegation was filed for simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and underage drinking.

Sept. 20

  • 12 W. State Street (Giovanni’s), Doylestown Borough – A 24-year-old woman from Bensalem and a 21-year-old woman from Warwick were cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following police response to a physical altercation on the sidewalk outside of Giovanni’s Pizza. Citations were filed.

Sept 21

  • W. Oakland and S. Main Street, Doylestown Borough - A 55-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with harassment following police response for a verbal domestic in progress incident. A citation was filed.

Sept. 22

  • S. Main Street, Doylestown Borough - A 40-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with strangulation, simple assault, false imprisonment and other charges following police response to a domestic incident not in progress. The victim reported that a man escalated a verbal altercation and grabbed the victim by the neck, dragged them to the ground and locked them in a laundry room for a short period. The man then struck the victim on the face, causing injury. An arrest warrant was issued and the subject turned himself in, was arraigned, and bail was set at $15,000 unsecured with conditions.
