Man Faces DUI Charge After Driving Recklessly In Plumstead
Officers responded to the reports of a red Ford pickup that was speeding, failing to maintain its lane, and cutting off vehicles.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — DUI charges are pending against a 29-year-old Warminster man after driving recklessly on the Route 611 Bypass and on Swamp Road, police in Plumstead Township said.
Officers responded to the area around 9:21 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 for a red Ford pickup that was speeding, failing to maintain its lane, and cutting off other vehicles.
Police located the vehicle on Swamp Road and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Upper Stump Road. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication, including glassy bloodshot eyes and the aroma of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.

The driver subsequently failed field sobriety tests conducted by police on the scene.
Based on the reckless driving reports, the driver's performance on the field sobriety tests and the officer's observation, the driver was taken into custody without incident for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
