Man Wanted For 'Smash-And-Grab' In Doylestown Taken Into Custody

The man had fled to Florida after he broke into a car outside a Doylestown Township fitness club and stole a wallet.

BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — A man wanted in Bucks County for a "smash-and-grab" theft and using a stolen credit card to make $1500 in purchases is back in Bucks County to face charges after fleeing to Florida.

Police on Tuesday arrested Demetrius White of Bedminster and charged him with access device fraud, theft by deception, and receiving stolen property.

White was taken into custody on a Bucks County arrest warrant by the Broward County, Florida, Sheriff's Department and transported back to Bucks County to face charges.

On Sept. 13, 2023, at 5:20 a.m., Doylestown Township Police responded to the report of a vehicle break-in at a fitness center in the township. The rear window of a car was smashed and a wallet was stolen. A stolen credit card was subsequently used to purchase three Vanilla Visa prepaid cards totaling $1,500.

The Doylestown Township Detective Division conducted an extensive investigation and identified
Demetrius White as the individual responsible for using the prepaid cards.
