DOYLESTOWN, PA — The mother of a young Doylestown boy who died of cancer has been organizing an effort to donate thousands of toys since 2017. This Saturday would be Dominic's 13th birthday, she said.

Kyra Liples lost her 8-year-old son, Dominic, in 2016, after a nine-month battle with brain cancer. Her other son suffers from Spina Bifida, and the mother and child make frequent visits to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatments.

"We like to deliver the toys throughout the year because children are sick and they are dying all year long," Liples said. "They need joy all year, not just at the holidays."
