Nominations Open For Southeastern PA Girls Empowered Award
Do you know someone who's worthy of the Girls Empowered Award?
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Girls Empowered, a Doylestown nonprofit, is accepting nominations for the Girls Empowered Award for 2021.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges, with award winners announced during the first week of May.
Qualified individuals must be enrolled in grades K-12, live in southeastern Pennsylvania, a positive role model for their peers, demonstrate active involvement in leadership in school and extracurricular activities in the community and fit the Girls Empowered definition of "empowered" (possess the knowledge, skills, confidence and resources to stand up for one's self, make positive choices and be in control of one's future).

Winners will receive an engraved plaque with their name, a $500 donation made in the recipient's honor to a charity or cause of their choice, a scholarship in the recipient's honor to give to a girl in financial need to attend a summer empowerment program in 2021 and ;a $100 gift card to a local business of their choice.

Founded in 2015 by local psychologist Dawn Haaz, Girls Empowered provides empowerment programs, including summer camps and workshops, to girls from elementary through high school.
