PennDOT To Present Plans For Easton Road Roundabout Project

PennDOT is hosting a public meeting on the New Britain Road Roundabout Improvement Project in Doylestown Township.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — PennDOT will host a virtual public meeting this week to allow for comments on the Easton Road (SR 1001) and New Britain Road Roundabout Improvement Project in Doylestown Township.

The community will have the opportunity to review preliminary intersection design plans, the project's purpose and need, environmental features and an anticipated schedule.

The plans call for removing the existing two-way stop controlled intersections and replacing them with single-lane roundabouts, which will will allow for more development in the area, according to PennDOT officials. It will also allow for increased pedestrian and bicycle mobility at the intersection with ADA-compliant curb ramps and connections to the Doylestown Bike and Hike Trails, officials said.

Bus stops will also be improved for SEPTA Bus Route 55 and Doylestown Area Transit (DART) users.
