Pine Run Retirement Community Gets Fully Vaccinated

All staff and residents of the Doylestown senior living community who wanted the COVID-19 vaccine have received both doses, officials said.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — One of Bucks County's largest senior living and care providers has completed the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine to its residents and staff.

Owned and operated by Doylestown Health, Pine Run Retirement Community carried out its vaccination campaign in partnership with the health care network and CVS Pharmacy.

The senior community includes 272 independent living cottages and 24 apartments on a 43-acre private campus, which is also home to Pine Run Health Center, which offers rehabilitation services and 90 skilled nursing beds.

“We are proud and grateful to be at the forefront of efforts to put an end to this pandemic, for Pine Run, for our wider community, and for our friends and loved ones,” Pine Run Executive Director Maria Santangelo said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a terrible toll on families nationwide and here in our Pine Run community. We mourn with those who’ve lost loved ones, while we look ahead with hope to the days when the pandemic is behind us and we can come together in person once again.”

While the supply of COVID-19 vaccine continues to be limited in Bucks County, Doylestown Health is offering the vaccine to those who fall in the state's 1A criteria, which include residents of long-term care facility residents, health care workers, persons aged 65 and older and people with high-risk conditions.

Doylestown Health has administered more than 17,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of Monday. Patients who have received care from any Doylestown Health physician are automatically preregistered through the health system's electronic medical record and prioritized based on their highest risk medical conditions.
