Police Car Struck From Behind By Suspected Drunk Driver In Warrington
Warrington Police arrest couple on a shoplifting spree; take Chalfont man into custody for simple assault and harassment.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Warrington Township Police reported the following arrests and incidents between Jan. 5 and Jan. 11:
January 5
- At around 5:48 p.m., a Warrington officer and K9 Abby were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Street Road and Wedge Way when the police car was struck from behind by a car driven by a 64-year-old man from Warrington. The officer sustained injuries, however K9 Abby was not injured in the incident. The driver, though unharmed, showed signs of impairment, prompting the officer to administer a series of field sobriety tests. The driver was unable to pass the tests and was subsequently arrested for suspected DUI. After his arrest, the driver was transported to the station for processing before being released. He is charged with DUI and following too closely.
January 7

- Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft in progress. A couple, later identified as a 45-year-old man from Hatboro and a 42-year-old woman from Warminster, fled prior to police arrival. Loss prevention related the couple selected $186.18 worth of merchandise and concealed it in bags and exited the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. Police located the couple a short time later in the area of Street Road and Valley Square Blvd. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the station where they were processed and released. They are charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
January 11
- Police responded to the 100 block of Buttercup Blvd for the report of an assault. The investigation revealed that an argument had led to an assault where a 47-year-old man from Chalfont had struck the victim in the face. The victim sustained swelling and an abrasion. The man was placed under arrest and transported to the station. He was processed and arraigned by Judge Falcone who set bail at $10,000 unsecured. He is charged with simple assault and harassment.
