Police Make Arrests For Retail Theft, Stolen Packages In Warrington

Police said a Philadelphia man attempted to steal two electronic deadbolt keypads from a home improvement store in the township.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following arrests between Dec. 13 and 23:

December 23

  • On Dec. 23, police arrested Christopher Michael Scott for the theft of packages from the Westminster Apartment complex in the 600 block of Valley Road. The Warrington Township Police Department had two open investigations of theft of packages from nearby buildings at the Westminster Apartments property. Management at the apartment complex also provided a list of complaints from residents who had reported the theft of packages. Residents observed the video footage and immediately identified the suspects, one of which was Scott and another resident who resides in building "D". On Nov. 30 at approximately 2:25 p.m. police conducted surveillance on building "D". They observed a postal employee with the United States Postal Service and an employee with Amazon delivery services enter building "D" and deliver mail and packages in the lobby. At approximately 3 p.m., after the Amazon employee left officers observed and identified suspects removing the delivered packages. Scott turned himself on the arrest warrant issued. He was arraigned in front the Honorable Judge Stacy Wertman. Bail was set at 10 percent of $25,000. He was unable to post bail and also had a detainer for a probation violation. He was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

  • Rodney Guy Greene, 64, from Philadelphia was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and retail theft. On December 19, Bensalem Police advised Warrington Police that a vehicle involved in a retail theft may be in town. An officer found the vehicle in the parking lot of the Lowes Home Improvement Store unoccupied. A man, later identified as Greene, exited Lowes and enter the vehicle. The officer approached Greene and began an investigation. Greene had two electronic deadbolt keypads valued at $107.94 concealed on his person. Greene was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed. Greene was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $100,000 or 10 percent cash. Greene could not post bail and was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

December 13

  • On Dec. 13, police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a 55-year-old Doylestown woman had selected $90.75 worth of merchandise, concealed the merchandise in her purse and then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. She was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was processed and released.
