According to information from Bucks Beautiful:
The Doylestown Pop Up Park, which made its first appearance in 2015, has had a positive impact on the whole community. Restaurants and shops near the parks have reported a 20-25% increase in sales during the weekend-long event. Of course, pop-up parks aren’t only good for business. This year’s music-themed Park(ing) Day Pop-Up Park will offer seating for enjoying a snack and for people watching, an interactive music wall for kids, and host free performances by local musicians.
The Pop Up Park is in honor of a worldwide event known as PARK(ing) Day. The mission of the event is to draw attention to the need for more urban open space and inspire discussions about how public space is created and allocated.
Sponsors include: Bucks Beautiful; Doylestown Business & Community Alliance; Asher Slaunwhite Architects; Doylestown Borough; PA-DE Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects; Carter Van Dyke Associates; Schumacher Associates; Happ Contractors; McCaffrey's Food Markets; Siren Records; Monkey’s Uncle; Clearview Nurseries; Lamba Associates; May Horticultural Services; and Busy Bee Toys.
