EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued across parts of Eastern Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon, after a line of thunderstorms with 60 mph wind gusts was tracked moving east into Montgomery and Bucks counties.

The severe thunderstorm warning is in place through 5:15 p.m.

Forecasters said the storms were located at 4:30 p.m. along a line extending from Palmerton to Emmaus to Elverson. The storms are moving east at 35 mph.

"Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible," the weather service said.

Impacted locations could include: Allentown, Easton, Lehighton, Bethlehem, Norristown, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Lansdale, West Norriton, Forks, East Norriton, Emmaus, Northampton, Quakertown, Perkasie, Wilson, Souderton, Bedminster, Hellertown and Nazareth.

The following highways are also in the warning area:

  • Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 296 and 328.
  • Northeast Extension between mile markers 24 and 79. Interstate 76 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 327 and 328.
  • Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 54 and 76.
  • Interstate 176 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 1 and 3.
