'He Stabbed Him To Death': Son Accused Of Killing Bucks Co. Man, DA Says
Police said they discovered a large, blood-covered kitchen knife next to the father's head, and saw blood covering the young man's clothes.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A 22-year-old Newtown man is accused of stabbing and killing his father in their home early Friday morning, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said in a news release.
Jordan Matthew Kurman faces charges of criminal homicide and possession of an instrument of crime, and is currently being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility after being denied bail.
According to a criminal complaint, he told his mother Merridth Kurman that he stabbed his father, Gregory Kurman, "for 22 years of abuse." She said he then told her to call 911 and watch the dog.

Before officers could enter the home, Merridth came out yelling for help for her husband and directed them inside, according to a release.
Police said they saw blood on the floor leading from the foyer to the living area of the home. They found Kurman on his back in front of a couch which had blood on it, with the cushions and pillows in disarray, according to law enforcement.
Police saw a large, blood-covered kitchen knife on the ground near Kurman's head. He had a large and deep laceration to the throat and blood pooling under his head, the DA's office said.
"He killed my husband," Merridth told police, according to a criminal complaint. "He stabbed him to death."
Law enforcement then exited the home and approached Jordan, noticing a lot of blood on his clothes, according to the news release. They detained Jordan.
Merridth told Newtown and Bucks County Detectives that she was upstairs when she heard screaming and arguing. She went downstairs to investigate the noises and saw her son drop the knife that police later located next to Gregory Kurman's head, police said.
EMS personnel with Newtown Ambulance responded and subsequently determined that Gregory had died.
This case is being investigated by Detectives with the Newtown Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. The case is assigned for prosecution to Deputy District Attorney Matthew Lannetti.
