Stage United Bringing Big Boy Brass, Matt Cappy To Doylestown

The free concert takes place at Broad Commons Park in Doylestown Borough on Thursday.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A free evening of live music is coming to Broad Commons Park in Doylestown Borough on Thursday, Oct. 16.

The October concert lineup starting at 6 p.m. features two exciting performers - Big Boy Brass and special guest, Matt Cappy.

Big Boy Brass plays horn-heavy covers of pop, classic rock, and funk favorites lead by singer Mary Kate Hughes.

Renowned trumpeter Matt Cappy kicks off the night. Cappy blends jazz, jam and soul, with hip-hop, Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms. He has been featured on five Grammy-winning albums, sharing the stage with Jill Scott, as well as collaborating with artists like The Roots and John Legend.

Bring your blankets and chairs. Food will be available for purchase from several food trucks and Chambers 19 will be serving beer and wine.

Concerts at the Commons is produced by The Borough of Doylestown and Stage United. Presenters VaMa Oak Wealth, Fred Beans Automotive Group, The Jeff Lavine Team, and many community sponsors have made the October festivities possible.

Broad Commons Park is located at 10 Doyle Street, Doylestown 18901. For more information, click here. Free parking will be available at the Bucks County parking garage across the street from Doylestown Borough Hall.

Since its founding in 2024, Stage United has impacted the region’s live music ecosystem by creating a fundraising model to produce both intimate performances and large-scale community concerts. In partnership with municipalities, local businesses, and arts organizations, Stage United continues to inspire audiences in Bucks County and beyond.

"By working together, we are changing what is possible to present in our backyard," says Joe Montone, founder of Stage United. "And it's truly made possible by so many that live right here and believe in the community-building power of live music."

In November, Stage United will launch the return of "A Night Of Song" at The TileWorks in celebration of America's semiquincentennial. Lineups and more information will be announced in the weeks ahead.
