Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

We are very proud of our son and the person he is and are excited to see what the future holds for him. We are often told to know AJ is a joy! He is a unique young man with a kind heart, good sense of humor and respectful to all around him. AJ has a thirst for knowledge and adventure; he works hard at everything he does to ensure success. He possesses the confidence and humility to make him a true leader in the school community and beyond.

AJ truly is the meaning the three "As”! Academic! Arts! And Athlete!

First Academically, AJ maintains a high GPA of 3.7 or above throughout his school year. His favorite subject is science; he dreams of one day becoming a Quantum Physicist and has a goal of changing the world in a positive way through science. He also enjoys all other subjects because he knows they will all come together in achieving this long-term goal.

Second, he loves the arts! AJ has played the viola for the past year, joined, and became an officer of his middle school show choir, and had a main role in his middle school musical. But AJ didn’t stop there. His most outstanding accomplishment is his dancing with the Pennsylvania Ballet. He has studied ballet for seven years and has danced on prestigious stages such as the Academy of Music where he played a party boy in George Balanchine's "Nutcracker." As a performer, AJ has demonstrated his talent and dedication to the arts.

And last but not least is athletics. His dedication is impressive. He is currently playing for three football teams - The Little Quakers, CYO Saints, and Tamanend Middle School. AJ loves the game, and his athletic abilities complement his academic endeavors and enrich him as an individual. His secondary sport is track and field where he competes in the 800, 4X100, 4X400 races along with shot put.

Finally, I want to tell you about AJ’s love for serving his community. He is currently a member of his church's teen youth group. Each month this group comes up with a way to give back by helping their community. For example, helping with community events at the township, collecting items for people in need, and conducting clean ups in neglected areas. AJ always makes the time to help out as a way to give back for he knows he is fortunate and not everyone can say the same. With the support of his family and his excellent time management skills he is able to achieve high standards in all that he does.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Aj is willing to try anything once and will genuinely give it 110 percent every time.

Keep up the great work, Anthony Bouie Jr.!
