Terrain Store Approved For Doylestown After Unanimous Supervisors' Vote

The outdoor garden center, lifestyle shop, and cafe would take over the location of the now-shuttered Market at DelVal.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Township Supervisors unanimously approved preliminary and final land development plans for a new Terrain store in the township last week.

The outdoor garden, home goods, and lifestyle shop would replace The Market at DelVal, a location which closed in 2020.

"We expect good things,” Barbara Lyons, who chairs the supervisors, said after the vote.

The store hopes to offer "an experience for all the senses," representing "a space devoted to nature, curated for the garden and home, and made to merge beauty and utility."

Delaware Valley University and Urban Outfitters, Inc. submitted the plans together in a joint proposal.

"Terrain will be a great partner in helping us deliver our mission of experiential education and there will be many opportunities for our students, faculty and staff with this new relationship," Dr. Benjamin Rusiloski, president of Delaware Valley University, told the Bucks County Courier Times in an email.

He added, "We believe approval from the township will help strengthen our connection to the local community as they will have the opportunity to visit Terrain and have access to DelVal produce and products at the location."

The store has locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, and California.

If the Doylestown project is completed as planned, the local Terrain will be found at 2100 Lower State Rd.
