A Tornado Watch has been issued across the Philadelphia region through 9 p.m. Thursday.

PENNSYLVANIA — A Tornado Watch has been issued across the Philadelphia region through 9 p.m. Thursday. Conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch is in place in 31 Pennsylvania counties, including Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Philadelphia.
Thunderstorms, large hail, excessive rainfall and strong wind gusts are all on the forecast through the evening, according to the National Weather Service. Isolated tornadoes are also possible.

Severe thunderstorms are possible through 10 p.m., the weather agency said. Widespread thunderstorms with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning can be expected, especially after 4 p.m., with predicted rainfall amounts ranging between a quarter and a half inch.
Expect temperatures near the low 70s heading into the evening.
