Weekend Fire Forces Evacuation Of Apartment Building In Doylestown

The occupants were safely evacuated, but the building was deemed unsafe to occupy, fire officials reported.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — An early morning fire forced the evacuation of an apartment building in the 500 block of Fonthill Drive Sunday morning.

Firefighters from Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 responded to the scene at 2:51 for an apartment fire. Crews worked for about two hours to extinguish the fire and ventilate the building.

The occupants were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported, fire officials reported.

The fire marshal has deemed the building unsafe to occupy until remediated due to smoke and water damage. Residents have found shelter or are being assisted by the Red Cross, fire officials said.
