Woman Charged With Credit Card Fraud: Plumstead Crime Report

Police charge driver with DUI following accident; another driver was charged after police witnessed their car crossing double yellow line.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Nov. 26 and Dec. 3:

December 3

  • A 35-year-old woman from Patterson, New Jersey, faces felony charges after using a stolen credit card to make purchases at stores in Hilltown Township. Ruth Gomez, 35, was arrested on Dec. 3, processed, and arraigned at the Central Bucks Regional Police Department. Police said in July, a 76-year-old Plumstead woman reported that her credit card and debit card had been stolen from her vehicle while she was at a community swimming pool. Police said Gomez and a co-conspirator gained access to the victim's credit cards from her vehicle and used them at stores in Hilltown Township. Gomez was remanded to the Bucks County Prison on $250,000 (10 percent) bail.

  • At 10:21 p.m., police stopped the driver of a black Toyota Tacoma traveling west on Point Pleasant Pike in the area of Silo Hill Road. Police made the stop after witnessing the vehicle crossing the double yellow line three times and drifting across the fog line two times. Upon speaking with the 55-year-old driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed glossy, bloodshot eyes. Standardized field sobriety tests were administered, which the man failed to complete satisfactorily. Based on the results of the tests and the officer's observations, the driver was placed under arrest for DUI. Charges are pending.

December 1

  • At 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic accident involving an impaired driver. Upon arrival, police said the 54-year-old driver exhibited signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, slurred speech, and unsteadiness. The driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
