Edgewood Symphony Looking for Musicians

The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra is looking for a volunteer harpist and percussionist to join more than 70 volunteer musicians with extensive backgrounds of musical training and experience who dedicate their time and talents to bringing the classics to the Pittsburgh community.

The regular concert season has traditionally been comprised of four subscription concerts: fall, holiday, late winter, and spring. Repeat performances of selected concerts may be scheduled. Additional, non-subscription, concerts may be scheduled, including summer concerts. Subscription concerts are typically scheduled for Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. 

The home venue for the ESO is and surrounding communities. However, the orchestra also performs throughout the Pittsburgh area, principally the eastern suburbs. Typically, at least one regular concert per season is performed outside of the home venue.

The ESO rehearses each Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 10 p.m. A break is held about midway through each rehearsal. The regular rehearsal venue is in Swissvale. CCAC, Boyce Campus auditorium is used as a backup when West is not available. However, other rehearsal locations are used when required by circumstances. A warm-up rehearsal may also be scheduled, usually held immediately preceding each concert.
