Art, Ecofest, School Board Meeting Set for This Week

Here are 5 things you need to know in the Forest Hills-Regent Square area this week.

1. Woodland Hills School Board, Wednesday, Oct. 2—Woodland Hills School Board will hold its agenda setting meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the district administrative office, 2430 Greensburg Pike.

2. Steel City Ukeleles Jam Session, Wednesday, Oct. 2—New-to-uke players are welcome to this bimonthly jam session, which accommodates a wide range of abilities and ranges. 

3. Kid Art or Tween Crafttime, Saturday, Oct. 5— Kids ages 5 - 8 are encouraged to explore their creativity from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with this month's new medium: Screen Printing. 4. Ecofest, Saturday, Oct. 5—From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., look, learn, listen and act when Wilkins School Community Center, 7604 Charleston, hosts the seventh annual event. The event features a free clothing boutique and repurposing salon; bring your bike for a workshop, or bring some of your unwanted clothes and take some home. Taste a home made brew, recycle your batteries, electronics and more. Open house for kids is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.   

5. Coffin Cuties Art Opening, Saturday, Oct. 5—Event begins at 7 p.m. and meet and greet with artist Mike Hearse begins at 8 p.m. Trundle Manor, 7724 Juniata St., Swissvale, will be exhibiting some of Hearse’s photography throughout October.  A pre-Halloween-party, costumed opening reception, which includes a Costume Contest for best Costumed Cutie (Ladies Only) and prizes.
