Neighbors have expressed concern over local businesses being sold to Giant Eagle for the purpose of GetGo.
While the new on South Braddock Avenue is slated for completion in the next few weeks, worries that beloved businesses in the area have been sold currently have been found to be rumors.
Nancy Drew, a member of the and owner of the building just next to the gas station, said there will be no changes at all.
“I own the building and I still own it—we are not moving,” Drew said. “They’ve been rattling the building with the construction and everything but we’re not moving anywhere.”

A representative at , which is located to the left of Ambiance on South Braddock, said their own space has not been sold and will remain that way.
Residents recently have expressed concerns that Giant Eagle may have purchased the properties directly next to the new gas station, which replaces the former Sunoco station after its owner, , retired.
Victor Kimmel, who represents Giant Eagle’s public relations team, said the GetGo Regent Square location will have four stations and eight pumps, along with a convenience store with food and snack offerings.
He also added that there are in fact no plans to expand at this time.
The hours of operation for the new gas station have yet to be determined, he said. He could not specify whether the business would be open 24-hours a day or not.
He said Giant Eagle chose the neighborhood because of its close proximity to the Edgewood Towne Center Giant Eagle,
“We’re always wanting to expand the GetGo brand and want to bring the advantages of shopping at Giant Eagle, like the fuelperks! program, close to as many people as we can,” Kimmel said. “The Regent Square location will be a convenient fuelperks! redemption location for the soon-to-be expanded Edgewood Giant Eagle.”
