What brought you to teaching?

It’s really inspiring for me to see the way the kids learn. I went back to college and started teaching in 2009. Before that, I did real estate and was a paraprofessional.

We do the basic reading books, and the kids are making book-themed boxes with tangible items rather than a traditional book report to tell what the story was about.

Why do you enjoy being a teacher?
Watching the children learn. It’s so rewarding for me to see that sparkle in their eye or something in their voice that says they understand. It’s so rewarding to see their progression and the way they mature and grow up.
