Mock Trial Team Makes Mark in Philly Competition

The Woodland Hills High School team placed seventh.

On Jan. 14 and 15, the Mock Trial team traveled to Philadelphia to compete at the University of Pennsylvania’s Benjamin Franklin Invitational.

The team finished with a record of 3-1 and ranked seventh out of the 25 teams competing. was also the school that traveled the most miles to participate and the only team from the Pittsburgh region in the tournament. 

This event marked the first time an Ivy League school has hosted a high school mock trial tournament.

Team members include seniors Margaret Baker, Mary Caparosa, Alexander Howell, Vincent LeDonne, and Kimberlee Moore; juniors Michaela Buzzard and Mitchell Rode; sophmores Joshua Howell, Miranda Johnston, Lauryn Robinson, Michael Smith, and Alex Stunden; and freshman Liam Bachtell, Max Begler, Daniel Stoffergen, and Anna Yezovich.

The team is coached by Woodland Hills High School teacher and alumna and attorney Ms. Jamie Glasser.
