UPDATED: WH Basketball Player States he was Provoked

The basketball team faced trouble at Saturday's game.

Shakim Alonzo spoke to the McKeesport Daily News and said he was provoked at a game Saturday night just before he punched a player from Peters Township.

"There was a lot that happened, but there was a bunch of racial slurs and a bunch of contact that had nothing to do with basketball going on," the report states. Alonzo is a Woodland Hills student and member of the basketball team.

According to the McKeesport Daily News, Alonzo was ejected from the game. The incident is being investigated.

Peters Township coach stated the incident was not racial in any way.

Woodland Hills lost the WPIAL AAAA first-round playoff game to Peters by a score of 67-56.
