Genetic genealogy revives 2003 Schuylkill River mystery in Berks (readingeagle.com) — A long-unsolved drowning case just outside Hamburg is getting new attention as Berks County investigators use modern DNA genealogy to identify a man found in the Schuylkill River in 2003. Hamburg’s mayor, who is also chief deputy coroner, has personally re-examined the baffling case, and recent grant funding allowed the victim’s remains to be exhumed for advanced testing that could finally bring closure.
