• Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg 'sickened' by antisemitic attack in Australia (local21news.com) — Harrisburg’s Jewish Federation is speaking out after a deadly antisemitic shooting at a Chanukah event in Sydney, saying they’re “sickened” and are on full alert to keep local celebrations safe. Leaders are urging officials and community voices at every level to clearly condemn the attack as antisemitism while vowing local Jewish traditions will continue with strengthened security.
   

• More than 900 pets adopted in ‘Mega Adoption Event' (abc27.com) — Harrisburg pet lovers helped 92 animals find homes during a massive regional “Mega Adoption” event that placed 943 pets overall. The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area joined Brandywine Valley SPCA and other shelters across the Mid-Atlantic, connecting hundreds of dogs and cats with new families despite wintry weather.
   

• Pennsylvania National Guard unit prepares for European deployment (abc27.com) — A Pennsylvania National Guard public affairs unit that originated in Harrisburg is heading to Europe for a yearlong deployment, taking local soldiers away from home through upcoming holidays and milestones. Leaders say the 109th MPAD’s diverse backgrounds and communication skills will play a key role in supporting U.S. Special Operations Command Europe while families at home provide crucial support.
