COVID Cases Drop Slightly In Delco, Hospitalizations See Small Uptick

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — New data on the coronavirus in Delaware County is out from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the data shows four of the six key metrics on the virus's impact are down.
According to the latest data, newly confirmed cases have dropped from 808 to 761.
In line with that decrease, the incidence rate per 100,000 people decreased from 142.6 to 134.3.

Delaware County's positive PCR testing rate dropped from 15 percent to 14.3 percent.
Average daily coronavirus specific hospitalizations saw a slight increase, going up from 40.9 to 41.1.

While hospitalizations saw a small increase, the average daily coronavirus patients on ventilators went down, going from 2.6 to 1.
Lastly, the percent of hospital emergency department visits due to COVID-like illnesses increased from 1 percent to 1.3 percent.
To date, Delaware County has had 107,690 confirmed cases and 1,909 coronavirus deaths.
Data shows 411,419 people have been fully vaccinated, and of those people 195,658 have gotten one booster and 37,885 have received a second booster.
