3 Departing Councilmen Honored In Horsham
State Rep. Melissa Cerrato gave proclamations to the three council members, including Horsham Council President W. William Whiteside III.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — It was the end of the road for three Republican council members who attended the final meeting of their tenure on Wednesday night.
State Rep. Melissa Cerrato and State Sen. Maria Collett were there to say goodbye to longtime Councilman W. William Whiteside III, the president of the Horsham Township Council, who served for 26 years of what Cerrato said was "steadfast leadership."
Also honored were Council Vice President Sean Wade and Councilman Eric Glemser.

Whiteside and Glemser lost in the November general election as Democrats swept three spots to hold all five seats when the council reorganizes in January.
"I was truly honored to present citations to the outgoing Horsham Council members in recognition of their dedication and years of service to our community," Cerrato said.

Wade, who did not seek re-election, served four years on the council with "commitment and care."
Glemser, who was named to fill an open council position, was recognized for his 1.5 years of "service and support" to the community.
"Each of these individuals has given their time, energy, and talents to strengthen Horsham and ensure our community continues to thrive," Cerrato said. "Their work has touched countless lives, and their legacy will be felt for years to come."
The Republicans had held a 3-2 majority on the five-member board.
Democratic Councilwomen Samatha Slaff and Ellen Zschunke will now be the veterans. They will be joined by newcomers Ruth Patterson, Elizabeth Thomson, and John McCarty.
"On behalf of our neighbors, I extend my deepest gratitude for all they have done to serve and support Horsham," Cerrato said. "Thank you for your leadership, your vision, and your dedication to making our community a better place."
