Beginning early this year, the district received 31 applications for the position being vacated by current Superintendent Curtis Griffin, who is retiring. The board selected eight candidates to interview, then narrowed the field to three finalists.

"Dr. Eveslage really stood out to us," said school board President Jennifer Wilson. "In addition to his impressive background, his vision was completely aligned with ours and the priorities shared by our community. These included creating a culture of trust, ensuring student equity and fostering academic achievement among all students."
