HORSHAM, PA—The Horsham Dog Park announced Thursday it has won a $5,000 grant from PetSafe for maintenance and enhancements at the park.

Park volunteers said on Facebook that changes will be made in the next few months and into the spring.

The "Bark For Your Park" grant selection process included votes from the public. On the park application, volunteers said they hope to put the money towards managing water in the park, as well as fence and bench repairs and weed management.

"HDP is historically wet land and requires mulch to be spread each year to manage excessive ponding throughout the park’s surface," the application page states. "The mulch, which is currently the park’s largest annual expense, helps to ensure the land can remain usable and safe in all weather and seasons. Horsham Dog Park volunteers have also designated specific areas to plant water-loving trees that will help absorb water in notable problem areas."

The grant application notes that Horsham Dog Park is managed by volunteers and supported by community donations.
