Detective Ngo and K0 Mac were asked by Montgomery County and local law enforcement to track down a cell phone used by the victim in Norristown.
They searched a snow-covered area for hours without luck. They returned the next day and were able to recover the cell phone in 20 minutes, officials said.
Police used the information on the cell phone to garner insights into the victim’s life and identify potential suspects. Two defendants were later convicted of second-degree murder.
Council members and Horsham Township Police Chief Scott Fida thanked Detective Ngo for all the hours of training she gives to K9 Mac.
