Man Receives Prison Sentence After Pleading Guilty To Horsham Rape
Joshua Luke Nathaniel Plentie, 22, of Philadelphia, got 2 to 5 years in state prison after he admitted to raping a semi-unconscious woman.

HORSHAM, PA — A Philadelphia man has been handed a state prison term in connection with his admission that he raped a woman who was heavily intoxicated and unconscious at the time of the encounter, according to court records and local media reports.
Joshua Luke Nathaniel Plentie, 22, will be heading to prison for 2 to 5 years, followed by seven years of probation, after he pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court to two felony charges of rape of an unconscious victim and aggravated indecent assault without consent.
Court records show that Plentie was sentenced on June 17 by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas P. Rogers, who also ordered Plentie to have no further contact with the victim, undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation, comply with sex offender supervision, and stay away from the Days Inn hotel in Horsham Township, which was the site of the September 2020 rape.

According to an article in the Mercury newspaper, the case began on Sept. 18, 2020, when Horsham Township Police took a rape report from a female victim who was being treated at Abington Hospital.
The woman stated that she had been sexually assaulted while in an intoxicated and semi-unconscious state by Plentie, who was a friend of hers at the time.

The newspaper, citing a police criminal complaint, reported that the victim had called Plentie for a ride from the Horsham Days Inn where she was saying to get a bite to eat, and that he raped her while the two were in the vehicle together.
Investigators were reportedly told that while the victim had trouble forming sentences at the time of the assault because of her heavily intoxicated state, she did remember telling the defendant "no" when he made sexual advances.
Court records show that Plentie was represented by Philadelphia defense attorney Nino Tinari.
