Man Tried To Gouge Out Eye Of Tinder Date In Horsham: PD

A Tinder date last month in Horsham involved marijuana, facial injuries, and a seizure, a criminal complaint stated.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A township man has been charged after he tried to scratch out the right eye of a woman he met on the Tinder dating app, police said.

On Nov. 5, Horsham Township Police responded to the report of a man having a seizure in the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike.

Police arrived to find a screaming woman, saying that 35-year-old James William Worthington was striking her, according to a criminal complaint. Police saw Worthington on a living room couch, striking her with a closed fist as she continued to yell for help.

Police broke into the home, saw the victim with a bloody face, and ordered Worthington face down, where he was handcuffed. Police said he was sweaty, disoriented, and naked from the waist down, the criminal complaint said.

The victim, whose age was not given, said she met Worthington on Tinder earlier that day.

After she arrived at his home, they smoked marijuana, and shortly thereafter, Worthington began to suffer a seizure.

The victim said that when Worthington regained consciousness, he attacked her with a closed fist and attempted to gouge out her right eye, the complaint states.

A Horsham ambulance treated the victim for facial injuries, the complaint states.

Worthington was charged with a felony Aggravated Assault count and misdemeanor charges. He was arraigned by District Justice Todd Stephens.
