Montco Deputy Fire Chief Who Died On Thanksgiving Laid To Rest

Richard Lefebvre was a life member of the Enterprise Fire Company in Hatboro who had served as deputy chief, president and board chairman.

HATBORO, PA — A lifetime member of a volunteer fire department in this eastern Montgomery County community has passed away at the age of 56.

Richard Lefebvre was most recently the deputy chief of the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro but had also served at one time as the department's president and as the chairman of the board of directors.

No cause of death was given for Lefebvre, who was a resident of neighboring Warminster, Bucks County, but who grew up in eastern Montgomery County.

"Rich was a dedicated and thoughtful friend, firefighter, and leader to many of us," the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro posted to its Facebook page. "Our hearts and thoughts are with his family in this difficult time."

A funeral service was scheduled for Thursday morning at the Schneider Funeral Home in Hatboro, and interment was slated to follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, Bucks County.

Lefebvre was a native of Abington Township who became involved in the volunteer fire service while also working his day job for Verizon, according to his obituary.

When he wasn't working Lefebvre enjoyed outdoors activities such as fishing and camping and was also known as a train enthusiast.

"His sense of humor, quick wit and kindness will be missed by all who knew him," his obituary states.

Lefebvre was married to his wife, Joanne Lefebvre, for nearly three decades.

In addition to his wife, Lefebvre is survived by a sister and brother-in-law in addition to three nieces and nephews.
