EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The latest rankings have been released on how high schools fare in eastern Montgomery County.

U.S. News & World Report has released its latest rankings on the best high schools in the country, and dozens in Pennsylvania made the list.

The 2025-2026 Best High School Rankings, released Tuesday, include specialized STEM and charter rankings alongside the traditional state, district, and metro area categories.

Nearly 24,000 public high schools were evaluated, and nearly 18,000 were ranked.

The 2025-2026 Best High Schools national rankings identify top public schools based on six key performance indicators, including student achievement on state-required assessments, strong graduation rates, and college readiness measures.

Schools are evaluated on how effectively they serve all students, including underserved populations, with college readiness specifically measured through student participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.

These are how eastern Montgomery County high schools were ranked:

39. Upper Dublin High School (800 Loch Alsh Avenue, Fort Washington)

Upper Dublin High School is ranked 39th within Pennsylvania. The Advanced Placement participation rate is 50 percent. The total minority enrollment is 27 percent, and 20 percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Upper Dublin High School is ranked No. 1,391 in the National Rankings, and has 1,280 students.

40. Jenkintown Middle / High School (West and Highland Avenues)

Jenkintown Middle/High School is ranked 40th within Pennsylvania. The Advanced Placement participation rate is 63 percent. The total minority enrollment is 30 percent, and 28 percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Jenkintown Middle/High School is ranked No. 1,393 in the National Rankings, and has 186 students.

87. Abington High School (900 Highland Avenue, Abington, PA)

Abington High School is ranked 87th within Pennsylvania. The Advanced Placement participation rate is 48 percent. The total minority enrollment is 45 percent, and 34 percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Abington High School is ranked No. 2,220 in the National Rankings, and has 2,793 students.

200. Hatboro-Horsham High School (899 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA)

Hatboro-Horsham High School is ranked 200th within Pennsylvania. The Advanced Placement participation rate is 43 percent. The total minority enrollment is 29 percent, and 37 percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Hatboro-Horsham High School is ranked No. 4,982 in the National Rankings, and has 1,339 students.

203. Cheltenham Township High School (500 Rices Mill Road, Wyncote, PA)

Cheltenham High School is ranked 203rd within Pennsylvania. The Advanced Placement participation rate is 43 percent. The total minority enrollment is 47 percent, and 77 percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Cheltenham High School is ranked No. 5,010 in the National Rankings, and has 1,457 students.
