New School Year Kicking Off For Eastern Montco Students

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The new 2025-2026 school year is upon us.

While most school districts allow students to squeeze a little more out of summer by opening after Labor, the Cheltenham Township School District will kick things off early.

Students there return to classes on Monday.

These are the opening dates for the new year in some eastern Montgomery County school districts:

Abington Township School District

The Abington School District's 2025-2026 school year begins on Tuesday, Sept. 2, for grades K-6 and 9, and on Wednesday, Sept. 6, for grades 7-8 and 10-12.

Cheltenham Township School District

The Cheltenham School District's first day of school for the upcoming academic year is Monday. The school calendar also says an early dismissal is planned for that day.

Hatboro-Horsham School District

In the Hatboro-Horsham School District, elementary and middle school students, as well as ninth graders, begin school on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades start on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Jenkintown Borough School District

The first day of school for the Jenkintown School District for the 2025-2026 academic year is set for Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Upper Dublin School District

The first day of school for the Upper Dublin School District for the 2025-2026 academic year is set for Tuesday, Sept. 2.
