New Superintendent Got Start In Hatboro-Horsham Schools

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The person picked to lead neighboring Warminster's school district launched his educational career in the Hatboro-Horsham School District.

The Centennial School Board will vote on an employment agreement with Abram Lucabaugh to serve as the district's next superintendent at its May 27 meeting.

Lucabaugh will replace Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden, who is retiring once his five-year contract expires at the end of June.

Lucabaugh began his career as a high school English teacher and middle school assistant principal in the Hatboro-Horsham School District before moving to the Central Bucks School District as a middle and high school assistant principal.

From 2007 to 2018, Lucabaugh served as the principal of Central Bucks High School East.

Then he transitioned to assistant superintendent of secondary education, and most recently, superintendent of the Central Bucks School District.

That relationship ended after he let go in a severance agreement with that district last year.

The Central Bucks School Board reached a more than $700,000 severance agreement with Lucabaugh that was approved by the outgoing school board in November 2023.
